Shelter-in-place issued for small community in Aurora

Police issued the shelter-in-place at about 10 a.m. for the neighborhood as officers tried to serve the man a warrant for his arrest.
AURORA, Colo. — Officers with the Aurora Police Department (APD) took a man into custody Friday after a stand off with officers in the area of North Airport Boulevard and East Colfax Avenue.
Officers were trying to serve a warrant on the man. SWAT and crisis negotiators tried to make contact with the barricaded man in hopes of a peaceful resolution.
The man was transported to the hospital after being taken into custody before he is taken to the jail.
