RV crashes into Winchell’s in Lakewood, 2 people injured

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — The Lakewood Police Department is investigating after an RV crashed into a Winchell’s Donut House on Monday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. at 6801 W. Colfax Ave. Major damage could be seen from SkyFOX inside the donut shop.

Two people inside the RV were taken to the hospital in an unknown condition. LPD said their injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Firefighters with West Metro Fire also said they rescued a dog.

No injuries were reported from anyone inside of Winchell’s.

One lane of westbound Colfax Avenue is closed near the crash.
