Former Dry Dock Head Brewer Teams with Live Slow Brewery and Bowling Alley in Wheat Ridge

Breweries can be noisy places. So can bowling alleys. So one of the first questions former Dry Dock head brewer Alan Simons asked before teaming up with the two owners of Live Slow Brewing, a future bowling alley and brewery, was this: “How much will I hear the bowling pins? Because I may go crazy.”

The answer must have been a strike because Simons, a well-known and longtime Colorado beer maker, is joining the unusual Wheat Ridge business as a part-owner and head brewer.

Simons, brewery general manager Joe Malouff, and advisor and financial backer Grant Babb plan to open Live Slow this fall in the redeveloped Paramount Bowl building, at 2625 Kipling Street, which is now part of Gold’s Marketplace, a shopping center that is being overhauled with a new look and new tenants.
