Crews start to contain 403 fire burning west of Colorado Springs

The 403 fire burning west of Colorado Springs is 25% contained and did not grow much since the fire made its initial run Thursday and Friday, officials fighting the fire said Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

The fire started Thursday morning in Park County south of Lake George, and moved quickly to the northeast boosted by 75 mph wind gusts. About 120 personnel are on the scene of the fire, which has burned 1,388 acres as of an update Sunday morning. Officials said there was no growth of the fire Saturday.

No injuries have been reported and no structures have burned as of Saturday evening. It is burning in an area about 30 miles west of Colorado Springs.
